Today, after breakfast we were able to catch up with Scott for a video conference. That was fun, especially when she finally got chatty and excited about her upcoming visit to California. She hardly ever stops talking about it here!
It's a gorgeous day, so after breakfast, Beth changes into her swimming suit and goes out to the pool. She goes on a visit with Tom in the afternoon, while I'm at an appointment, and then when she comes back, it's back to the pool again. I'm getting her to practice her diving and do laps, especially since it was too late to go to Curves today. She does a few and then makes her way over to the side, where she discusses whatever's on her mind for a while until she's ready to go back in again and repeat the process.
Pan is hot but is starting to enjoy being outside with us. She's been so good -- she stays under my chair or nearby, and follows me if I go inside. This might work out after all!
Almost time for dinner; I'll finish this up later.
We had picnic foods for dinner -- fresh tomatoes with basil and goat cheese, watermelon, brats and burgers, etc.
Beth did a good job of getting herself ready for bed.
But then, a shock at 10:30 p.m. I come up to turn in to bed, and there's Beth -- fully dressed, washed, bed made, preparing to come downstairs. She wouldn't believe me that it was still night, and she resisted going back to bed. She was a bit agitated.
I showed her that it was still dark outside and asked her to read the digital clock carefully. She finally understood that it was night time still; we went through the whole process of getting ready for bed again.
