Beth was slow to rise again, even Tom was up before she was! She wore her sparkly t-shirt with the flag and fireworks.
We had breakfast at home, eggs for Tom and French Toast for Beth and me. That sparked her talking about how Scott loves French Toast and always used to have it at home, at the old house on Primrose. She kept up a steady stream of Scott chatter the rest of the morning. Pan was particularly excited watching the birds and critters outside her window today.
After breakfast, Beth and I went on a walk to Loose Park. She even agreed to jog for a couple of blocks and kept a pretty good power walk pace for most of the way. Once we got to the park, we stopped for a break on the swings. "Almost heaven..." she sang.
It was threatening rain most of the day, but we did spend a little time relaxing first in the hot tub and then the pool. Beth enjoyed the hot tub but thought the pool would be too cold.
We had a dinner mostly from the grill -- roasted potatoes, pork tenderloin and asparagus, with homemade fruit turnovers for dessert. And by the end of dinner, it was time for Beth to shower and get ready for bed. By this time, it's raining out and most of the fireworks are abandoned. We saw a couple of flashes in the sky, but most were rained out.
