Getting to KC

Well, Beth made it!

Plane was about 45 minutes late, not sure why, but all was well when she finally got off the plane in freezing KC. It was about, oh, 9 degrees above ZERO! Good thing she was ready for it!

We stopped off to go shopping (!) on the way home -- we bought Bethie a stack of CDs that she picked out -- KD Lang, Sting, Clannad, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Simon & Garfunkel -- but I drew the line at Kenny G. (Not in my house.)

We went home and got settled, and then before too long it was time for dinner! We had plans to meet up with our good good friends Tim & Janet Wiglesworth and Aften McK & Don Wylie. All of them were so happy to see Beth again!

Dinner was at Princess Garden, an old favorite of ours -- but, oddly, the first time Beth had been there. She loved dinner -- didn't have to look at a menu, as Wylie had pre-ordered everything for us: two roast duck, cold beef salad, green beans, egg rolls and a wonderful chicken dish. Yummy -- Beth loved it all! Oh, and a glass of wine too!

We traded Xmas gifts with our friends -- every year, Janet makes a wonderful loaf of English muffin bread and Peach-Pear Jam. We also got something from Aften, but haven't opened it yet!

Next stop, home and an extra blanket on Beth's cozy bed. She was asleep before the light went out! Photos
