I'll try to quickly summarize the week:
- Ken, Phuong and Beth arrived on Saturday. We came home and got everyone settled and started showing off Kansas City. We went downtown to the new Power & Light District, and had a long lunch at Raglan Road. Phuong had her first taste of Guinness, through a straw! We went out to eat at Aixois -- it was great!
- Breakfast at home Sunday morning, then a walk and visits around at the Nelson Art Gallery. We went to family dinner at Erin & Drew's house, and Phuong got to meet all the babies: Margo, Simon, Poppy, Graham and Lily.
- Monday was a visit to the Plaza and a little shopping. (Nancy had some work to do.)
- Tuesday was a visit to the City Market, the Asian groceries. I think we went to a new restaurant for Beth.
- Wednesday was a visit to the Linda Hall Library, hoping to meet up with Sally, but she had the day off. Later it was a meeting of the barflies at Aixois, and then dinner later at O'Dowd's. Eddie was playing and he made a point of inviting Beth! She was counting everyone's Guinnesses.
- Thursday was the big feast of Thanksgiving, and 18 of us crowded into the dining room. I think everyone had enough to eat!
- Friday was a day for the Handymen. Ken and Tom and saga of the missing cart at the hardware store, the return visit, and the six-hour session to install a ceiling light. They can explain in more detail when it's not so painful to them... Later, we went to our friend Aften's and then to the Christmas Tree ceremony.
- And all too quickly, it was off to the airport to send Ken and Phuong on their way home.
